At least nine people were injured in a shooting near Indiana University Bloomington in the United States, according to reports.
The incident occurred around midnight on Sunday on Kirkwood Avenue, an area where thousands had gathered following the annual “Little 500” bicycle race, a long-standing student tradition that draws large crowds each year.
Authorities said police responded quickly to the scene and found multiple victims about a block away from the university campus. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment, though their conditions have not yet been fully disclosed.
Eyewitnesses reported that the shooting was preceded by a verbal and physical altercation between two women, which escalated into gunfire. According to these accounts, one of the individuals involved opened fire during the dispute.
Local police have launched an investigation to determine the full circumstances of the incident. It remains unclear whether any suspects have been taken into custody.
