(OPINION) In recent weeks, Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has made headlines with an increasingly public and dramatic break from one of her once closest political allies, President Donald Trump.
According to reporting from the Irish Star, Greene has not only questioned Trump’s leadership and political instincts but has openly challenged his judgment, motivations, and the direction of the Republican Party.
For years, Greene was considered one of Trump’s most ardent defenders on Capitol Hill, vocally supporting his agenda and often echoing his criticisms of Democratic leaders.

However, the relationship between the two figures began to fracture during 2025, culminating in a series of high-profile disagreements that have drawn national scrutiny
As reported by Irish Star, Greene — who is stepping away from Congress in early 2026 — has begun publicly airing grievances and “spilling secrets” about Trump’s inner political circle and decision-making process as she prepares to leave office.
At the center of the split is Greene’s growing concern over what she perceives as Trump’s failure to act transparently and prioritize accountability.
One of the most explosive allegations she raised involved the handling of documents connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Greene claimed Trump opposed the release of certain files, allegedly telling her that exposing the information would result in “his friends getting hurt.”
This statement has fueled Greene’s assertion that Trump protects powerful interests rather than pursuing justice when it threatens political allies.
Beyond policy and transparency, Greene has also expressed moral and spiritual concerns about Trump’s character. She pointed to a moment following the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, criticizing remarks Trump made during a memorial service in which he admitted he “hated” his political opponents.
Greene contrasted those comments with the forgiveness expressed by Kirk’s widow, calling Trump’s statement “the worst” and saying it revealed a lack of genuine faith. “It just shows where his heart is,” Greene reportedly said, framing the moment as a turning point in her support.
Greene has further distanced herself by questioning Trump’s broader priorities, including his approach to foreign policy, governance, and national focus. She has expressed frustration that critical domestic issues have been sidelined while attention is placed on political theatrics and international entanglements.
