After returning to the condo, she had breakfast and prepared for the day’s events. She dressed for the festival and appeared ready for what was expected to be an engaging afternoon of discussions.
Her husband later joined her and drove her to the Aspen Institute campus, where the festival activities were taking place. At the time, there was no obvious indication that anything unusual was happening.
The morning appeared completely normal. Couric interacted with others, made plans, and prepared to participate in discussions before an audience. However, behind the scenes, something unexpected was beginning to affect her ability to create new memories.
